Manchester United failed to address their defensive concerns from the summer transfer window. Mourinho desperately wanted the Board to sign a centre back but they failed in their pursuits despite being linked to so many central defenders like Maguire, Boateng, Mina, Alderweireld and Varane. However they managed to sign Fred very early on in the summer transfer window. Fred's pace from the centre of the field can help the likes of Alexis Sanchez prosper from the wing. Lukaku will again be spearheading the attack and he will be looking for a great season after doing very well for Belgium in the World Cup. Pogba will have a very crucial role to play and his performances will be hugely important to the success of Manchester United.
