Anthony Martial enjoyed his best-ever season in the Manchester United shirt when he was deployed as a number 9 under Dutch tactician Louis van Gaal. The Frenchman was shifted to the left wing by Van Gaal's successor Jose Mourinho, and struggled for consistency in that position.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reinstated Martial as a number 9 during the pre-season, and the improvement in the Frenchman's game is already visible.
