Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Valencia star linked, Sessegnon update and more - 24 March 2018

Fulham v Sheffield United - Sky Bet Championship
Ryan Sessegnon

Hello and welcome to the Tottenham transfer roundup for 24th March. Some good players have been linked with the Lilywhites while there is also bad news regarding one. So without further ado, here we go!

#5 Jonny Evans as Alderweireld's replacement?

With the contract morass with Toby Alderweireld impending over their heads, Tottenham could launch a move for Jonny Evans in the summer by activating his £3 million relegation release clause at West Brom - should they be relegated - say The Telegraph.

The chances of West Brom being relegated are really high as they lie at the bottom of the table with just 20 points from 31 games. They are 10 points behind 17th placed West Ham and everything just points towards relegation and then the subsequent mass exodus.

#4 Another right-back?

AFC Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Competition for Aurier?

The North London outfit might have only just signed Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain, but it seems as though they are still on the lookout for another full-back to challenge the former PSG player.

Apparently, the Lilywhites have been linked with a new right-back in the form Joan Sastre from Mallorca.

According to Marca, scouts from the Premier League outfit have been following him for a while, with Crystal Palace also in the hunt.

#3 Malcom learning English

Corinthians v Goias - Brasileirao Series A 2015
Malcom

This one is good enough to make the Spurs fans dream. Apparently, Malcom is learning English in order to prepare himself for a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham being prominently interested.

“I am learning English because it is the most important language in the world," he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"Wherever you are, with English you can get along. So that is very important for me. I have learned the language very quickly, had no big troubles.

"French was much more difficult. So I would manage to live in England. But in the end, I can integrate everywhere."

#2 Spurs in for in-form Rodrigo

Valencia v Barcelona - Copa del Rey Semi Final Second Leg
On PL radar

In his latest match for Spain, the former Real Madrid youth player scored against Germany to give his team the lead. The striker has scored 12 goals and has made 4 assists in 24 starts for Valencia.

And now, Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest for him. According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham, along with Everton and Brighton, have set their sights on the talented Spaniard.

The report states they could make a €40 million bid for the talented Valencia striker.

#1 Sessegnon-snub?

Fulham v Sheffield United - Sky Bet Championship
A world-class talent

Ryan Sessegnon is a teenager that is the talk of the hour. After setting the Championship on fire with his brilliant performances for Fulham, scoring 14 goals and grabbing 5 assists in the second division this season.

With his scintillating performances, the top clubs of England - Tottenham and Manchester United - are eying for a move for the talented left-sided player.

There is, however, a chance that he might snub the move after all as according to The Sun, the youngster is open to remaining at Fulham should they be promoted to the Premier League next season.

The Cottagers are third in the Championship and will hope that they make it the first division by any means.
