Tottenham transfer news: Spurs icon wants Man United legend at Tottenham, Ryan Sessegnon to Spurs is done deal,  – May 10, 2018

West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Pochettino would be happy to sign these players

Hello and welcome to the Tottenham transfer roundup for the day. Spurs might find themselves busy in the summer and today’s reports are just an indication of that. So here we go!

#5 The want for Maddison

This is not anything new for someone who has followed these roundups for a while. James Maddison is a player who has taken the Championship by storm with performances in Norwich’s midfield.

As a result, it is only fair that he has interest from the Premier League – and Tottenham are one of those clubs. The Sun claim that Spurs, Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Southampton and Brighton will go on a bidding war over the £25 million midfielder.

#4 Premier League’s De Ligt

Ajax v Manchester United - UEFA Europa League Final
De
Ligt
for the PL

Matthijs de Ligt has put Premier League clubs on alert after his revelation to Ajax. According to De Telegraaf, the supremely talented defender has told Edwin van der Sar and Marc Overmars of his decision to leave the Dutch giants in the summer.

Among many clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City want to bring him to the Premier League. Spurs will also have to fight off interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona to land the defender to the club.

#3 Croat star fight for Spurs

Dinamo Zagreb v Salzburg: UEFA Champions League
On the radars of many clubs

This is a bad news (or good news from another perspective) for Spurs fan as they will have to fight the likes of Chelsea, Celtic and, mainly, Inter to acquire the signature of the highly-rated Croat defender Filip Benkovic.

The Dinamo Zagreb star is rated at over €20 million and also has interest from Borussia Dortmund, say CalcioMercatowhich means that Spurs will have to do a lot of persuading to get him to the club.

#2 Ginola wants Rooney at Spurs

Everton v Southampton - Premier League
A good fit for Spurs?

Former Tottenham star David Ginola wants Spurs to sign Wayne Rooney.

"I don't understand that... why (should he go to MLS or China)." Ginola told talkSPORT.

"I'm pretty sure he's going to make the right decision for his career and himself as a 32-year-old man. For Wayne Rooney where do you go?"

"That's not a bad idea actually (for Spurs to sign Rooney) I didn't think about that, Wayne Rooney playing for Spurs alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, (Christian) Eriksen."

"That would be something, that would be something."

#1 Spurs agree to Sessegnon deal… or not

Fulham v Sunderland - Sky Bet Championship
A highly coveted youngster

So the word around the campfire is a bit ambivalent. On one hand, Paris United believe that Tottenham Hotspur have won the race to acquire Fulham’s ultra-talented left-sided teenager Ryan Sessegnon.

On the other hand, The Times state that Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of the £50 million English youngster has complicated things for the London club. The Parisians are willing to pay anything to get the player to their club – and we all know what that could mean.
