A sensational report in Diario Gol states that Cristiano Ronaldo has used his "considerable" influence at the club to make Real Madrid drop their interest in Harry Kane. The Englishman was being linked with a €200 million summer move to Spain but it is claimed that Ronaldo wants the centre forward's role at Real Madrid all by himself and believes that he can be the club's striker for the considerable future.
The Spanish daily reports that Ronaldo instead wants the European champions to focus on luring Eden Hazard to the Bernabeu which will enable him to play as the sole striker. If not for Hazard, Ronaldo has earmarked Valencia's Goncalo Guedes to be signed up by Los Blancos.
Atletico Madrid want Mesut Ozil on a free transfer
Diego Simeone is eyeing Arsenal rebel, Mesut Ozil on a Bosman transfer next summer. The 28-year-old playmaker has rejected an extension with the Gunners and is eyeing a move come the end of the season. The Sun claims that Atletico Madrid are on the lookout for an attacker next season with Saul Niguez expected to leave Wanda Metropolitana soon.
Atletico Madrid are keen on offering a return to Spain for Ozil where he once dazzled for Real Madrid. If Ozil accepts an offer from Real Madrid's direct rivals remains to be seen as the German superstar still holds his Real Madrid stint as his most memorable experience of his career.

Juventus director confirms interest in Emre Can and Leon Goretzka
Club director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the Italian champions are looking to sign soon to be free agent duo of Emre Can and Leon Goretzka. Both the midfielders have rejected advances from their parent club for an extension and are currently mulling their future options. Juventus have been linked with the duo as their interest is today finally being confirmed.
Speaking to Corriere Dello Sport, Marotta said, "Emre Can and Leon Goretzka are two players with expiring contracts and I don't hide the fact that we are following them both, like many other teams. The will of the players will be decisive."
Giampiero Ventura to resign as Italy national coach
In what will be a huge respite for the Azzurri, Sky Sports can reveal that the much-criticized Italian boss has promised to resign from his post after failing to qualify Italy into the World Cup. If he resigns, Ventura is in line to receive a €700,000 pay-off from the Italian FA.
Ventura has become the villain of an entire country which has failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958. Italy's defeat over two legs against Sweden also brought an end to the international career of the legend - Gianluigi Buffon.

Despite rumours suggesting that the German midfielder, Leon Goretzka has already made up his mind about leaving Schalke 04, the club officials still remain hopeful for the player's future with the club. Club director Christian Heidel believes that the Bundesliga side are moving in a new direction which may lure Goretzka into signing a new deal.
Schalke hierarchy are set to offer a new improved deal for the Liverpool transfer target which will see him become the club's highest earner. Speaking to Kicker, Heidel said, "I have faith in Leon and his advisers. We remain in the race."
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was offered to FC Barcelona
After the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, many forwards were offered to FC Barcelona last summer. One of them was the Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Mundo Deportivo understands.

After failing to land the Brazilian midfielder from Fenerbahce last summer, the Baggies are set to revive their interest in Souza. The 28-year-old is said to be manager Tony Pulis' number one January target, the Daily Mail reports.
West Brom had made a £10.6 million bid for Souza last summer which was immediately rejected by the Turkish giants which means that the Premier League side will have to make an offer of close to £15 million for the box to box midfielder.
