Antonio Conte is keeping tabs on Lyon's Mouctar Diakhaby as a defensive alternative

Chelsea monitor Lyon's Mouctar Diakhaby

After a wayward start to the season, defending champions Chelsea find themselves languishing 9 points off table-toppers Manchester City. A frustrating transfer window, coupled with injuries and form-related concerns are believed to have made Antonio Conte a worried man.

New recruit Antonio Rudiger has visibly struggled so far and has failed to impress the Chelsea hierarchy, who are now reportedly eyeing Lyon's 20-year old sensation Mouctar Diakhaby as an alternative to the woeful German, according to reports in The Sun.

The Frenchman has been in sizzling form this season and has attracted a lot of attention already. The reports also claim that Manchester City also have the youngster on their radar.

Arsenal identify replacement for Mesut Ozil

Arsenal's contract rebel - Mesut Ozil still hasn't signed a new deal with the Gunners and will be free to agree pre-contract agreements with interested clubs in January. With the German's departure nothing short of imminent, Arsene Wenger will be desperate to recruit replacements.

According to the Metro, Arsenal are now reportedly considering a move to bring back O?uzhan Özyakup, who was a part of their youth setup, before he was sold to Besiktas for a fee of £400,000.

The midfielder has subsequently made close to 200 appearances for the Turkish side, in his 5 years at the club. An impressive set of performances has now raised his value to about £10 million, which is what Chelsea are allegedly keen on paying to regain the services of their former player, who is now seen as an able replacement for Mesut Ozil.
