So without wasting further time, let's take a look at the major transfer stories from around the globe which made headlines on January 10, 2018:

Arsenal make an enquiry for Malcom

Arsenal are resigned to losing Alexis Sanchez this month and work in the background has already started to rope in an able replacement for the Chilean. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Gunners have entered the race for Bordeaux winger Malcom and have contacted the French side for a move.

Malcom has been a stand out player for Bordeaux this campaign and has already scored 7 league goals. The 20-year-old looks to be one of the most wanted men of this transfer window with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also being interested in the starlet.

But the Gunners seem to have beaten their rivals and are ready to meet Malcom's valuation of £45 million.

Manchester City set to offer Raheem Sterling a bumper new deal

Sterling has been one of the most influential players for Manchester City this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions. The champions-elect are now set to reward the winger for his brilliant form by offering him a bumper new deal.

Sterling has a deal with City until 2020 but the new contract will see it being extended till 2023. The winger will also get a raise as the Guardian reports that the new deal will see Sterling earn £250,000 per week, entering the bracket of top earners at the club.
