Today, the good folks at AS reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is currently unhappy at Real Madrid and is plotting a move back to the Premier League. AS has reported that Ronaldo feels 'cheated' by the Madrid board after he was not awarded a new bumped-up contract after the UEFA Champions League win last season.

Manchester United have been alerted by the situation but a move for a former player whose qualities are on the decline does not make any sense for them at the moment. But football is a funny game and we may just see Ronaldo at Old Trafford soon enough.

Sevilla confident of signing Michy Batshuayi on loan

Sevilla are currently on the lookout for a striker this month and have reportedly earmarked Michy Batshuayi as a potential solution. ESPN reports that the Spanish side are in talks with Chelsea over a loan spell for Batshuayi, who has struggled to make any sort of impression at Stamford Bridge.

He has made just two league starts this season and desperately needs a change to get back among the goals.

Emre Can denies agreement with Juventus

Earlier reports from had suggested that Emre Can is looking to run down his deal with Liverpool and has reached an agreement with Juventus over a move in the summer. But the midfielder has denied those rumours and maintained that he is open to signing a new deal with the Reds.

Can admitted (as reported by Sky Sports), "My agent is looking after everything but I am here until the summer. I haven't signed anything (with Juventus) or anyone. I am talking with everyone, of course, I am talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest."

Napoli close to signing Simone Verdi

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli are set to reach an agreement with Bologna today for the signing of highly-rated forward, Simone Verdi.

The versatile attacker is set to join the Naples side for a sum of €20 million and will reportedly earn €1.5 million per year in wages. Verdi is widely being regarded by the Napoli faithful as an alternative to Jose Callejon.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan holds the key in the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga

Mino Raiola, the Armenian playmaker's agent has today revealed that any deal featuring Alexis Sanchez hinges on the future of his client rather than on the Chilean. Manchester United are looking for a swap deal with Arsenal as they are looking to send Mkhitaryan the other way in order to land Sanchez.

As reported by the Telegraph, Raiola revealed, "Manchester United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal. Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, so it’s his decision. Sanchez is part of the Mkhi deal, not the other way around."

Theo Walcott set for Everton medical

Sky Sports has today revealed that Theo Walcott will undergo a medical at Everton's training ground in the evening.

It is reported that a fee in the region of £20 million has been agreed between the two parties with Walcott set to leave Arsenal after joining the Gunners in 2006. The winger will be Everton's second signing of the winter after the Merseyside side signed Cenk Tosun earlier this month.

Liverpool agree personal terms with Gelson Martins

With Philippe Coutinho's £142 million in the bank, Liverpool are actively looking for attacking reinforcements. Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha via the Metro has revealed that the Reds have agreed on personal terms with the talented winger, Gelson Martins, and are looking to bring him to Anfield this month.

Martins has been offered a deal worth £4.4 million per year which comes down to roughly £80,000 per week. The 22-year-old has a release clause of £53 million at Sporting Lisbon but Liverpool will look to negotiate with the Portuguese side to try and lower their valuation.

Bouna Sarr interested in a move to Leicester City

Marseille midfielder Bouna Sarr has today revealed to L'equipe that a move to the Premier League interests him. The 25-year-old Frenchman was the subject of a €3 million bid from Leicester a few days which was rejected straightaway.

Marseille want to keep Sarr until the summer with the midfielder having a contract until 2020.

Speaking in a press conference recently, the Guinean said:

"For me, it's mostly a reward. It proves that I'm working well and it's encouraging for the future, If today I can arouse the interest of this kind of club ... I will not lie to you, I am not insensitive to this championship. But I prefer to focus on the contract I have to honor with Olympique de Marseille"
