Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has definitely convinced his board to splash the cash this summer transfer window with his team's impressive showing in the UEFA Champions League this past season. The club seems to have his back as the North London side is now holding talks with Real Madrid midfielder Ceballos ahead of a potential move.

However, Real Madrid are in no hurry to sell the 22-year-old. The Spaniard has a very high release clause and also has 4 years remaining on his current contract. However, he is surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu and therefore, a short term deal could be in the making.

Ceballos had hinted at a move after his impressive performances for the Spain u-21s. After Spain's victory in the finals of the u21 Euros against Germany, he said,

"I think [Zinedine] Zidane will have seen the tournament,"
"But we all know what he thinks.
"I would like to try out something new: next year, my goal is to play 40 games and play in the Euros."
