Aaron Wan-Bissaka's and Daniel James' signings are quite patently a step in the right direction for Manchester United. The Red Devils are trying to find a footing in a crowded and inflated transfer market. With a plethora of players being linked with the club already, the lack of Champions League football might prove to be a deterrent in several deals.

However, Manchester United's executive vice-chairman has produced a reassurance of sorts to calm the United fraternity. Woodward wrote in a mail to the club that they're calmly working on their transfer projects. He revealed,
"Despite the inflated nature of the transfer market and constant speculation and stories, which can be misleading, the recruitment team - in conjunction with the manager [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer] - are working calmly behind the scenes to bring in other exciting players that fit their long-term vision for the club,"
