If that wasn't enough, reports in Spain claim that Lionel Messi has long been a fan of the Real Madrid midfielder who is on loan at Bayern Munich and would like to play alongside him.

Arturo Vidal has played with James Rodriguez at Bayern Munich. It has been reported over the past couple of weeks that Rodriguez has asked Bayern Munich to not sign him. However, the chances of Real Madrid selling him are as good as the chances of them keeping him beyond the summer.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Barcelona top brass will relent since Rodriguez has been pretty inconsistent over the past few seasons.
