The substantial presence of Toby Alderweireld in Tottenham's back-line has steered the London side to their first Champions League final. The Belgian centre-back is a prominent passer, besides his robust defensive skills.
Alderweireld possesses all the qualities required in a modern centre-half. At 30, age is the only factor which is against the Belgium international. Alderweireld does not show any signs of slowing down and looks fit enough to sustain his levels for at least two or three seasons.
