Turkish airlines enters premium partnership with Germany's Borussia Dortmund

On May 2nd 2013, Turkish Airlines and Borussia Dortmund (BVB) met to sign a 3-year agreement. The agreement represents commitment from both sides and involves numerous activities and programs together.

Hamdi Topçu, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, says: “We are excited to accompany Borussia Dortmund on its path towards success in the near future and are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.”

He also added: “Turkish Airlines and Borussia Dortmund share a similar success story. Dortmund has a very notable set of players, many of them young and successful. The company also invest heavily in talent building. Several of the Borussia Dortmund players are members of both the German and Turkish national teams.” Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund’s CEO, announces: We are glad to have Turkish Airlines, a global brand as our Partner. Turkish Airlines is a strong brand with obviously high quality and a first class service. We are looking forward to cooperate with Turkish Airlines and pleased, that they chose Borussia Dortmund as a strong partner to realize their goals.

According to the agreement, Turkish Airlines is to be the airline of choice for all BVB international flights. Turkish Airlines serves twelve German cities with roughly 250 flights a week. Then, from its hub in Istanbul, the airline offers connections that allow the team to travel across the world.
