Tweets: Ozil celebrates Mertesacker’s birthday

Arsenal stars Ozil and Serge Gnabry celebrated Mertesacker’s birthday while driving back home from Wales, following their 1-2 win over Swansea on Saturday.

German International Mesut Ozil tweeted a picture with a message: ”happy birthday @mertesacker29, you are a great friend and team-mate! #happybirthdayper #afc #topoftheleague #gunners”

The trio started the game and helped the Gunners maintain their top spot in the league with Serge Gnabry scoring his debut goal for the Gunners in the Premier League.

It looks like the £42.5m man is enjoying his new life at the Emirates with fellow Germans which can only be a good sign for the Gunners. Arsenal stand at the top of the table leading Spurs by two points after 6 games.

Arsenal host Napoli in the Champions League second round fixtures later tomorrow which will see the arrival of their summer target Gonzalo Higuain spear heading the Serie A side’s attack.
