Barcelona recorded a 4-1 away win over Las Palmas to keep their La Liga title hopes alive as it is now certain that the winner will only be decided in the last week of the Spanish league. Neymar was the star of the show as he scored a sensational hat-trick while also assisting Luis Suarez’s goal.
The Camp Nou outfit took the lead through Neymar, who tapped into an empty net after being set up excellently by Suarez. Luis Enrique’s side doubled the lead through the Uruguayan as he chipped Javi Varas from just inside the box only minutes later.
Las Palmas pulled one back through Pedro Bigas, which provided the home side with some hope of mounting an improbable comeback, however, Neymar’s second goal of the game ensured that the joy of the Canary Islands outfit remained short lived. The Brazilian then completed his hat-trick after finishing from a narrow angle to ensure that Barcelona return to Catalunya with all the 3 points.
Real Madrid also recorded a 4-1 win over Sevilla and now find themselves needing 4 points from the two remaining games to win the La Liga title. Barcelona need to win their game against Eibar next weekend and hope that Madrid lose a game sometime next week.
