Twitter reacts as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-0

Barcelona qualify for the finals of the Copa del Rey, as they beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the second leg of the semi-final at the Bernabeu Stadium. The first leg of the fixture ended in a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.

Both teams canceled out each other's attacks in the opening 45 minutes of the game but Luis Suarez stepped up to the occasion in the 50th minute to give Barcelona a 1-0 lead. Raphael Varane further increased the Blaugrana's advantage with an own goal in the 69th minute before Luis Suarez scored his second goal of the game from the spot to put the game beyond the reach of the hosts during the 73rd minute of the game.

Real Madrid enjoyed 48% of possession during the game and had 14 shots on goal as compared to Barcelona's four. The Los Blancos worked themselves into a number of good positions to score but they failed to make most of them.

Barcelona are currently at the top in the LaLiga table, seven points clear of their closest rivals Atletico Madrid. They will play Real Madrid in the league next before facing Girona for the Supercopa de Catalunya final on March 6.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are currently third in the LaLiga table, nine points behind the leaders Barcelona. They sacked their manager Julen Lopetegui after a poor start to the season and are now struggling to perform under his successor Santiago Solari as well.

The Los Blancos are scheduled to play Barcelona in the league next before squaring off against Ajax for the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie on March 6.
