Real Madrid romped to a 6-1 win over Cultural Leonesa in the second leg of their Copa del Rey round of 32 clash. However, that was not the biggest story of the night. Nor was Martin Odegaard putting in an exceptional performance in his first ever start for Los Blancos – 679 days after signing for them.

In fact, hat-trick hero Mariano – who scored within 23 seconds of his first ever start for Real Madrid and also became the fastest player ever to score for Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey – although deserved the praise but failed to hog the limelight.

It was Enzo Zidane – son of Zinedine Zidane – who stole the show, first by making his Real Madrid debut under his father, then by performing Zidane’s famous ‘Roulette’ before capping off his debut in dream style – by scoring.

Zidane, who retired from football in 2006, had scored a goal in his last ever match – a 3-3 draw against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 7, 2006. 3852 days later, his son – Enzo – scored at the same stadium in front of some of the same fans from that night 10 years ago and more importantly in front of his father and the Real Madrid manager.

Twitter, as you would expect, didn’t shy away from showering praise on the 21-year-old who rolled back all those years. Here are some of the best tweets:
