The Red Devils' 1 - 0 victory over BSC Young Boys late in injury time left Jose Mourinho animated as Manchester United entered the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Mourinho made six changes to the starting eleven which played out a goalless draw against The Eagles at home. Mourinho benched Pogba, Mata, and Lukaku for Fred, Fellaini, and Rashford. Defenders Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, and Antonio Valencia came in for Lindelof, Darmian, and Ashley Young.

The 91st-minute strike from Marouane Fellaini led to Mourinho venting his feelings on the water bottles kept on the sidelines as The Special One lost his cool not for the first time in his managerial career.

Earlier, it was David de Gea‘s full-length dive to push the ball off the goal line to deny Ulisses Garcia’s shot which kept The Red Devils in with a chance to score the late winner.

Mourinho‘s anger stems from the fact after The Red Devils registered a mere single effort on target in the first half. Marcus Rashford yet again missed a golden opportunity to put United up when he skewed a ball over the crossbar.

The frustration continued as Fred dispatched one over the crossbar, and Rashford‘s strike was kept out by a low save from David Von Ballmoos.

Young Boys almost took advantage of United’s lacklustre finishing when Djibril Sow’s creative back-heel only just ran inches wide of the near post.

Goalscorer Fellaini squandered an earlier opportunity in the 56th minute when he did not slot the ball into an empty net, and later Jesse Lingard‘s strike settled into the arms of the Young Boys shot-stopper.

Lukaku wasted an opportunity after coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute.

Finally a sublime cross from Shaw got nodded on to Fellaini‘s path by Lukaku, and Fellaini controlled it brilliantly to send a right-footed strike through the defender‘s legs and past a diving Ballmoos, sparking off wild celebrations at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils managed just 4 shots on target from their 21 attempts, holding on to 60 percent of the ball possession.
