Liverpool vs Manchester United did not get to the best of starts. All the anticipation and hype surrounding the game fell flat in a first half that was very dull and uninspiring. Manchester United probably edged it because of how they managed to contain Liverpool while slightly discomforting them in the first half.
The second half was a lot more interesting as Liverpool clicked into gear once Lallana was introduced in place of Daniel Sturridge. Philippe Coutinho did produce one moment of magic that took a magical save from De Gea to stop but apart from that it was a rather dull affair.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a very poor evening by his standards and some fans vented their frustration on social media about him while others moaned about the overall quality of the game. But the results were no doubt hilarious:
