Liverpool have jumped to the top of the Premier League table after beating Fulham 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Reds went into the game having endured a tough week, but came out tops against the newly promoted side.Having succumbed to a shocking 2-0 loss to Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League last Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp’s men were bent on returning to winning ways against Fulham. But it took till the 41st minute for Liverpool to open the scoring, as Mohamed Salah slotted home with a neat finish. The Egyptian who has so far struggled to replicate his form of last season, reminded everyone of his quality by picking a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold to put Liverpool in front. The Reds continued to dominate, but were often frustrated by either poor finishing or the resolute defending from the visitors.Liverpool returned from the break still very much in search of the cushioning goal, and it was Shaqiri, handed a rare start in as many weeks, who got on the scoresheet to make it 2-0. From then on Liverpool appeared to take their foot off the gas, having already sealed the win.The result takes Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table, albeit temporarily. The Reds are now three points above Chelsea and a point above Manchester City, who will both play later in the day. The Blues will host Everton, while Man City welcome neighbours Manchester United to the Etihad. As it stands, the Premier League race remains wide open, and is gradually becoming a three horse race. Liverpool though have popped up on the social media trends after their 2-0 win over Fulham. Most football fans on twitter have wasted no time in giving their opinions on The Reds’ latest win, as well as what it means to the other Premier League clubs. Here are some of the best tweets.Liverpool after 12 games in the PL era - the top 10 seasons. pic.twitter.com/8o4dmIfqKD— Andrew Beasley (@BassTunedToRed) November 11, 2018Liverpool fans will now sit back and hope for wins for Everton and Manchester United this afternoon.
