Twitter reacts as Real Madrid defeat Borussia Dortmund 3-2

Spanish giants Real Madrid and German side Borussia Dortmund faced off in their final fixture of the UEFA Champions League group stages. The Los Blancos took a two-goal lead through Borja Mayoral and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dortmund's star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brought his team straight back into the game by scoring two goals in the end of the first half and the beginning of the second. However, Lucas Vasquez came up with an 81st-minute winner for the reigning European Champions.

As this was one of the most anticipated matches of the night, despite Dortmund's poor form, Twitter was fully into it. Here are some reactions to the game:

Aubameyang is the third player to score at least five CL goals against Real Madrid, after Alessandro Del Piero (5) and Robert Lewandowski (6).

Dortmund are the worst third-placed UCL team of all time. As punishment, they have to play Thursday, Sunday and possibly Monday games.

While the men in yellow and black will move to the Europa League, defending European champions could be drawn against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool FC, Paris Saint Germain, AS Roma, Manchester City and Besiktas. It will be interesting to see who Zidane's side will have to face in the round of 16 of the tournament when draw is made on Friday.
