Sergio Ramos broke another record as the Spanish centreback was sent off for the most times in La Liga (20) at their 2-1 defeat against Girona. Ramos became the only player for the Los Blancos to receive 25 red cards in his career so far.

In the second half, Sergio Ramos received his first yellow card as he committed a handball inside the box. The yellow card was shown at the 64th minute of the match. Sergio Ramos not only committed a handball but also gifted Girona a penalty. Stuani made it 1-1 following a sweetly taken penalty. After the twenty minutes of getting the first goal, Girona extended the lead as Portu scored a beautiful goal.

Now, Sergio Ramos tops the list of the red cards received in La Liga as he has now 20 red cards after his name in his La Liga career.

Ramos did his second mistake in this ill-fated day on the 90th minute when he kicked Stuani and committed another bad foul. As a result, Real Madrid's legendary centre-back broke all the records with 20 La Liga red cards in his whole career.

We all know that Sergio Ramos is a great centre back, but this kind of negative statistics are enough to show his character on the field. After getting the 25th red card Sergio Ramos said to the reporters,

Looking at the result, I'd be lying if I said I didn't force, it is not to underestimate the opponent nor to think that the series is over, but in football, you have to make tough decisions.

On the other hand, the Girona coach made some comments where he added,

Maybe they were thinking they would get a second goal, but we were slowly getting back into it and getting more confident. At the end of the game, it is a fair result.

Real Madrid hold the 3rd position in the league table as they have gathered 45 points from 24 La Liga matches. Barcelona top the list with 54 points after playing the same number of matches.
