Defender Daniel Agger has announced his retirement from the game. The former Liverpool man made a total of 299 appearances for Brondby and Liverpool combined and represented the Danish national team 71 times scoring 12 goals in the process.
It comes as quite a shock considering he is still only 31. Agger’s career was blighted by injuries which probably prompted him to hang up his boots. Here’s how twitter reacted:
