Germany and Spain faced each other in an international friendly this evening. An end to end affair for the most part of it, with star names on both sides, not once did it feel like a friendly. These two teams are among the bookies' favorite to lift the FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer and we all witnessed a preview of what could be a likely final. From the first minute, it was a high octane clash and both teams had us all glued to the action. It was Spain who took the lead through Rodrigo, who finished expertly from a brilliant through ball from Iniesta in the 6th minute.Germany, however, fought back and equalised through Thomas Muller who thundered a long shot past a helpless De Gea. It ended 1-1 at half-time.Germany were slightly the better team in the second half as they forced De Gea to make a couple of excellent saves and also had a Hummel's header skewed off the crossbar. Both teams tried to mix things up with substitutions but neither could finish off their chances. Bragging rights were shared at the full-time whistle as the game ended level. Here's how Twitter reacted:The goals first, of course!⚽️ 🇩🇪 Germany vs 🇪🇸 Spain | Rodrigo (GOAL) 6' pic.twitter.com/qUy7L8BdSW— D9INE (@CY_STADIUM) March 23, 2018Muller what a beauty! pic.twitter.com/kmhwX7oKO5— DB10 (@ArsenalizeIt) March 23, 2018We've only just started enjoying having international football back... Quality of football is better than so many official games I have watched this season. Do not miss what's left of it, and do yourself a favor and watch the replay.— Seleção Brasileira (@BrazilStat) March 23, 2018Watching the slick football and incisive play from the Germany/Spain game it's night and day from Holland/England. Different gravy.— Craig Burley (@CBurleyESPN) March 23, 2018#DaveSaves. Why does that have to be a thing? Worst player for Spain tonight. Sergi Roberto should've been the one starting considering he's been La Liga's best RB this ssn.— Amin (@AwayFrom234) March 23, 2018Germany very casual at the back and lucky to be level atm..good game though. #GerSpa— 💚Celtic 💚 (@Con_Shaunnery) March 23, 2018Just flicked over to @BTSport and watched 10 minutes of Germany vs Spain. It’s like they are playing a different game to Holland and England. Two incredible sides, wouldn’t be surprised if either lifted the trophy come summer. #GERSPA #WorldCup— Ned Ozkasim (@nedoz9) March 23, 2018@D_DeGea can save pregnancy,Titanic ,bullet and @ManUtd .But not @esmuellert_ 🚀What a strike #gerspa— Mr.Gun Slinger (@nossy22) March 23, 2018Iniesta tearing apart one of the best national teams in football but he still isn't world class in the eyes of some.
