Twitter trolls Manchester United after they drop to 6th place following Arsenal's win over Southampton

Arsenal recorded a 2-0 away win over Southampton to keep their slim hopes of a top four finish alive, the win was their first at St. Mary’s since 2003 and helped them move up the table to 5^th position. Not only did the win help the Gunners with their top four aspirations it relegated Manchester United back to 6^th place, a position which has almost become synonymous with their season.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for Arsene Wenger side, after he received Mesut Ozil’s through ball before leaving two Southampton defenders for the dead as he slotted the ball past Fraser Forster. Olivier Giroud, who came on as a second-half substitute scored within 3 minutes, heading the ball past the opposition keeper to hand his side a 2-0 win.

Twitter didn’t hold back as Manchester United were trolled for dropping back to 6^th position, despite being on a 25 game unbeaten run, which was ended by Arsenal on Sunday.
