Group C: A Group of Death contender

Chelsea v Burnley - Premier League
Chelsea are in a tricky group with Atletico Madrid and Roma

Chelsea are in one of the toughest groups of the draw. The London side do not have the strongest of squads at the moment but their first team is as good as any. Antonio Conte is a master of the league format but not so much in knockout tournaments. This will be an interesting test for Chelsea as they balance between domestic and European commitments.

Atletico Madrid have the advantage of continuity going into this season's Champions League. Diego Simeone's side are one of the most consistent teams in the tournament, having reached the finals in 2014 and 2016. Atletico have managed to retain Antoine Griezmann and barring their adjustment period to their new stadium -- Wanda Metropolitano -- they are the actual favourites in this group. An interesting Diego Costa reunion could also be on the cards.

Roma have lost an absolute legend in Francesco Totti and are seeing increased domestic competition this season. However, former Sevilla sporting director Monchi has taken over and the Italian side boast of a good team. They will remain the prime challengers for Atletico Madrid and Chelsea's qualification hopes.

Qarabag are the completely unknown entity in this group. They are the first team from Azerbaijan to qualify for the UCL group stages. The trips to the capitals of England, Spain and Italy will be welcomed by Gurban Gurbanov's men. No one expects anything from the new entrants and that could help Qarabag pull off an upset or two, especially at home.
