Less than a year and a half since he released his first track, UK rapper Ramz now has over 80 million global streams of his single "Barking." The track also has over 35 million views of its video, as the song has reached #1 on Apple Music, #1 on Spotify, #2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and #5 on the Germany Official Singles Chart. The song notably made Ramz the first UK artist since Rag'n'Bone Man to score a top 5 hit in Germany. Further chart success for "Barking" occurred in Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, and Portugal.
"Family Tree" is the latest single from Ramz, as produced by Fraser T Smith. The South London native spoke to Sportskeeda about what is coming up for him career-wise, but perhaps more importantly, his long-time admiration for the Arsenal Football Club. I've read that you are a fan of Arsenal. How did you first get into the team?
Ramz: I grew up watching Arsenal with my uncle, he bought me my first Arsenal shirt! It had [Thierry] Henry on the back!
Has Arsenal always been your team?
Ramz: Yeah, I have been supporting Arsenal from a very young age.
As I write this, Arsenal is currently in sixth place. How do you think this season is going?
Ramz: This season hasn’t been the best, as we’ve had no Champions League football, and are not likely to finish in the top four. I’m more positive now though, as I think we can win the [UEFA] Europa League and go back in the Champions League next season.
Do you have a favorite current player on Arsenal?
Ramz: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
What about an all-time favorite Arsenal player?
Ramz: It has to be Henry!
How often do you get to go to Arsenal games?
Ramz: I used to work at the Emirates [Stadium] as a steward, and sometimes get to watch them play on the sly! I still try to go regularly though and recently watched Newcastle versus Arsenal.
Do any other sports come close for you? Or is it all about football for you?
Ramz: I am also a big fan of tennis, and used to play when I was younger.
Sports aside, what are you currently working on? Any upcoming projects you can talk about?
Ramz: I’m currently working on an EP that I would like to drop soon. I can’t say anything more, though!

Ramz: Me and my friends thought it would do well, but we had no idea it would be so successful so quickly.
