Umbro launched the Medusae Pro on February 15, 2016. Medusae Pro combines the better of two worlds. It offers a ‘magical touch’ and ‘lightning speed’. This brand new football boot follows the launch of Umbro’s Velocita II, which was launched in January 2016. A brand new colorway of Medusae Pro was out on February 29, 2016.
Coming to the design, Deep Cobalt/White/Fiery Coral/Sulphur is the launch colorway. In addition, Black/White/Marine is the second colorway. These two colorways are exhilarating.
The launch colorway is very bold. The forefoot area of the boot is in striking red color while the midfoot and the rearfoot areas are in blue. We also see yellow decals on the side of the boot. We see yellow colored studs as well. The branding is in white color. Umbro did a spectacular job with this design.
Coming to the second colorway, it is much more sober. The entire shoe is in black color. White Umbro branding on the side of the shoe is prominent. Marine colored the studs are very subtle and give the shoe a sophisticated design. If you want to blend in with the crowd rather than standing apart, this colorway is certainly for you.
The upper is 55% leather and 45% textile mesh. Leather covers the forefoot area whereas the midfoot area is reinforced with a synthetic mech. Under no circumstances have we seen a football boot like this in the past. The construction is faultless. This football boot offers a snug fit and is fantastic right out-of-the-box.
The Premium Kangaroo leather in the forefoot area delivers supreme first touch. This football boot weighs around 185g, making it one of the lightest leather football boots in the industry.
Umbro’s iconic A-frame makes a return with these football boots. The TPU internal cage in the midfoot area offers additional stability and unmatched lockdown. An EVA sock-liner offers additional comfort. To reduce fatigue, Umbro introduced a dipped leather Achilles heel tab that ensures negligible irritation during wear.
