Rumours: Liverpool target Salzburg defender

Liverpool bound?

Premier league side Liverpool have started negotiations with Austrian side Salzburg to sign Valon Berisha. Berisha has made 9 appearances for his national team.

The 20 year old Norway international was scouted by Liverpool during Salzburg’s 3-0 friendly win against current European champions Bayern Munich last week.

Liverpool centre backs Daniel Agger and Mamadou Sakho are yet to gain match fitness and youngster Tiago Illori has been loaned out to Spanish side Granada.

This leaves Liverpool with no cover in the centre back position, hence manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring in reinforcements.

According to rumours, Liverpool will have to fork out around £2.5 million.
