Video : Alves backs Neymar to fill Messi void

Dani Alves says Neymar has bedded in well with his team-mates as Barcelona hope he can help fill the void an injured Lionel Messi has left.

Barcelona trained Friday as they look to continue the rampant form from their season opener, a sound 7-0 victory against Levante that gave new coach Gerardo Martino a dream start to his time on the Camp Nou bench.

Tests have determined that Lionel Messi’s leg injury from Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid is a muscle bruise on his left thigh.

The Spanish champions say it is still unclear how long he will need to recover from the injury.

Messi was substituted at halftime of Wednesday’s Spanish Super Cup first leg as a precaution after he felt pain in his thigh.

The four-time world player of the year missed several games at the end of last season because of a nagging right hamstring strain.

According to Alves Neymar is ready to help fill the large impact Messi has on a game after quickly finding his feet in his new surroundings.
