Liverpool beat Aston Villa at Villa Park yesterday as they maintained their perfect start to the season.
It was another 1-0 victory but Aston Villa rarely threatened the Merseysiders until the very end, with Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet thwarting the home side’s attempts to equalise.
Daniel Sturridge was the goalscorer again, rounding the keeper and firing home in the 21st minute.
