Video: Chris Gayle celebrates in hilarious fashion to Portugal's win at Euro 2016

Ronaldo and Portugal edged past Croatia

Chris gayle is an ardent Manchester United fan and is also huge Cristiano Ronaldo fanatic. The big-hitting West Indian celebrated in the most comical fashion after last night’s dramatic round of 16 game.

It shouldn’t be a big mystery as to who he would support at Euro 2016. Ronaldo’s Portugal first scraped through the group stages of the competition and they were pitted against Croatia in the round of 16 who had managed to defeat defending champions Spain in their group game.

An exciting contest was expected but to everyone’s disappointment neither team really looked like they wanted to win the game. The 90 minutes produced zero shots on target and the audience were half asleep as it dragged into extra time.

The game continued in the same vein with everyone anticipating the second penalty shootout of the knock out rounds. But two dramatic minutes changed everything. In the 116th minute Darijo Srna charged down the wing and put in a cross which was met Perisic.

But his header hit the post and Portugal regained possession to start off the counter. It was 3 against 3 as Nani found Ronaldo who had a free effort on goal. The keeper made a great stop but could only palm it into the path of Quaresma who had the simple task of heading the ball into an empty net.

The goal sent the Portuguese fans into wild celebrations and Chris Gayle who watching the match on his Television, went into overdrive as he filmed himself celebrating the goal. Here is the video that he posted on Instagram:

Portugal will now play Poland in the quarter-final next week, a match you would think they would be marked as favourites, but given the unpredictable nature of this tournament, we might have an upset on the cards!
