Brasileirao Serie A side Corinthians paid a special tribute to Formula One driver who lost his life in a race-track accident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. in Imola, Italy on this day.
During their 3-0 win over Nacional AM in the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday, the players put on replicas of Senna’s famous yellow helmet to honor the Brazilian’s death 20years ago.
On this same day four years back, Corinthians played a tape in memory of Senna which was also part of the theme played at the São Paulo Motor Show..
Senna hailed from Sao Paulo and was an avid follower of Corinthians.
