Video: Cristiano Ronaldo sends a message to Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo were often up against each other in the Premier League

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo paid tribute to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard through a video message. In the video, Ronaldo wished Gerrard a good future as he is set to join the LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer (MLS).

In the message, Ronaldo says- “Hello Steve, just to say it was a pleasure to play with you for many years when I played for Manchester United against Liverpool”.

The video has been posted on the official Twitter page of Liverpool Football Club. In the video the former Manchester United footballer further adds, “You are a fantastic player. I wish you all the best for your career and for your life.”

Ronaldo used to face Gerrard on a number of occasions during his days with Manchester United. Praises for Gerrard have been flowing from all quarters and the 30-year-old also paid tribute to his one-time rival.

The Anfield legend will be playing his last game for Liverpool against Stoke this Sunday.
