It isn't very often that you compare a free-kick to the Roberto Carlos freak of nature goal against France, which swerved so much that Fabien Barthez is still sometimes seen looking for that ball.
Former Real Madrid player Royston Drenthe, who now plays for Turkish club Kayseri Erciyesspor, scored a quite outrageous goal from a free-kick against Besiktas. The left-footed effort actually went outside the camera angle, before curling back in viciously to nestle in the top corner. Watch it here:
The goal might not come as a surprise to many, considering the fact that Drenthe is known to be a maverick, who can pull off something great like that, and then immediately do something very stupid.
However, it does leave everyone thinking what could have been, as he has been at eight clubs in 10 years, with not much to show for at any place, with the exception of Feyenoord.
