Former Barcelona striker Jonathan Soriano arrived late for his team, Red Bull Salzburg’s match against Wolfsberger following his daughter’s birth, and appearing in the second half, scored a hattrick!

Soriano’s partner Cristina Sabater gave birth to their third child on the morning of the game and Soriano could only make it to the stadium by the time the first half had ended.

The 27-year-old, who moved to Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg in the summer last year, came on after half-time for striker Havard Nielsen while his side was tied 2-2 against Wolfsberger. Soriano took just 5 minutes to score his first goal of the match in the 50th minute. He followed it with two more strikes in the 76th and 87th minute as his side went on to register a 6-2 win. He expressed his joy and said:

“This is an incredible day for me. Having the chance to play and three goals, I think I will not forget any time soon.”

Man of the hour now, but Soriano was also left embarrassed earlier in the season after missing a penalty in some style!
