Is there anything Lionel Messi cannot do with the ball at his feet on a football pitch? It’s hard to think of many instances where the Argentine magician has failed to wow crowds with his repertoire of skills.

After all, five Ballon d’Or awards is definitive proof that he is currently the best footballer on the planet. Having won at least five club trophies in a year twice in his career, there is nobody in the world who says he doesn’t deserve every accolade that comes his way.

For a player like Messi, it is easy to perform with thousands of fans watching him at stadiums and millions more watching him on the television. So how does he fare under the immense pressure of a single camera on him at a training ground?

Of course, Messi is a set-piece specialist, but it is limited to just taking free-kicks. Barcelona are not exactly a team that score from corners and Messi is rarely ever seen taking corner kicks.

So Adidas decided to challenge him and gave him the task of hitting the crossbar from the corner flag. Does he manage to hit the target?

You bet he does! He even walks away nonchalantly like it was something he does every day as part of a training routine. Cool guys and not looking back at explosions and all that.

“I hit the crossbar from the corner flag on my first attempt,” he says on his official Facebook page. “Let’s see if you can do it too, Backed by Messi players.”

Messi back in training after kidney treatment

Earlier this week, Messi had undergone tests for a kidney problem that surfaced in December. But the Barcelona forwards has returned to training after receiving treatment. He had trouble with kidney stones that had to be removed and missed out on the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final which Valencia drew 1-1 with Barcelona. The Catalan club had already put one foot in the final with a 7-0 win in the first leg where Messi scored a hat-trick.
