Portuguese international Nani, on loan from Manchester United to Sporting CP, scored a fierce, left-footed thunderbolt for the Lisbon club against Gil Vicente in the Primeira Liga last night.
The winger controlled a throw-in by cushioning the ball with his head, before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
Nani was clearly very emotional after the goal, as he broke down into tears, and had to be consoled by his team-mates. The goal sealed Sporting’s 2-0 win over Gil Vicente.
The shot, which was very venomous and powerful, was recorded to be travelling at a speed of 97 km/hour, and was simply brilliant. Here’s another angle of the goal in slow motion:
