While the entire world waits just a little longer for Zack Snyder’ s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, football fans were treated to yet another parody trailer of the movie. This time, it is based on the biggest debate in the sport in the past decade – Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since the rise of social media, a war has broken out on the internet as to who the best footballer of all time is. The two La Liga superstars have shattered records, set new ones which may never be broken and rewritten the history books. The pair have also shared the last eight Ballon d’Or awards with the Argentine forward winning five to Ronaldo’s three.
The Football Republic decided to take these two away from the football pitch and fight it out in a Clasico on the silver screen. Instead of battling it out for 90 minutes, they do so here in 90 seconds.
Messi has always been nicknamed the ‘player from another planet’ and it comes as no surprise that he takes up the role of Superman, the son of Krypton. Ronaldo “plays the role of Bruce Wayne”, up against a tougher and seemingly immortal enemy.
