Lionel Messi trained for Argentina as they prepare to play Paraguay in a World Cup Qualifier. His team currently sit top of the South American league for Brazil 2014 qualification. Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella surveyed his squad complete with Lionel Messi. The man he’s called the ‘Ace of Spades’. But he’s a very lucky man with a squad packed full of star names. Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, Maxi Rodriguez and Fernando Gago are all fighting for places. Gago even hinted that Javier Mascherano could lose his place in the first team. “I have played many games alongside Mascherano and now if the coach decides to, I will play alongside Lucas Biglia. They are players that wear the Argentina shirt with pride, and have such good quality that, if they are part of the next game, it’s because they are going to be in top form.” Argentina sit at the top of the South America league for qualification for next year’s World Cup in Brazil. Their next game isn’t until Tuesday 17th September when they take on Paraguay in Asuncion.
