Video: Defender scores the funniest own goal after mix-up with goalkeeper

Michael Kokocinski scored a stunning own goal for 1860 Munich II

In a friendly match against Jahn Regensburg, Michael Kokocinski who currently plays for 1860 Munich II, scored an own goal that puts all others to shame. The German was part of the team’s defensive back line when he made the spectacular fumble.

The goalkeeper passes the ball to Kokocinski hoping that the player clears it. The 30-year-old though had other plans and sent a back pass to the goalkeeper. His plan would have been fine, except for the fact that he passed the ball away from the keeper – straight into the back of the net.

The incident was so bizarre that even the opposition team were unable to believe what just unfolded right in front of their eyes. Munich’s goalkeeper, on the other hand, was so stunned that he was unable to move from the spot where he was standing.

Kokocinski though might be forgiven as his team went on to win the game 2-1.

Kokocinski’s history with Munich

The player returned to play for Munich in 2014 after leaving the team eight years ago. Kokocinski started his career in 1860 Munich II where he made 40 appearances before moving to neighbouring team Bayern Munich II. After spending two years at the club, he spent the next five years moving across various clubs like Kickers Offenbach, Wacker Burghausen, and 1860 Rosenheim.

In his entire career among the five teams he has played in he has scored 26 goals.
