Feigning a slip while taking his run-up for his penalty in a penalty shoot-out against Afghanistan, Maldives’s Ashad Ali Adubarey recovered well to convert the spot kick by tucking the ball on the left side of the net, thus helping his team secure a 9-8 victory in the shootout.
With the win, Maldives secured the third place in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup.
