Standard Liege made a victorious start to the Belgian Pro League season on Sunday, beating KV Mechelen 2-0 away from home. Liege opened the scoring with Mujangi Bia who slotted the ball home from a Imoh Ezekiel through ball.
And as the hosts Mechelen poured forward, Standard Liege sealed the win in the 83rd minute as Michy Batshuayi raced through to make it 2-0.
