Arsenal’s Ted Drake scored 7 goals in one game against Aston Villa

Edward Joseph Drake or simply known as Ted Drake holds the record for scoring the most number of goals in a single top flight English football match; the match where he found the net on seven occasion against Aston Villa in December 1935. He could have scored his eighth if not for the crossbar.

The very same season, he managed to amass a total of 42 goals in the domestic campaign, a club record that he still holds to this day, leading the Gunners to a title win.
