Ukraine goalkeeper scores 93rd minute equaliser; ruled out for fouling opposition keeper

Ukraine succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Slovakia during their opening Group C fixture of the 2016 UEFA European Championship qualifier, props to Slovakia’s Robert Mak and his 17th minute goal.

The highlight of the match was when Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov Came had his 93rd minute goal disallowed after he was found blocking the opposition team goalkeeper Matus Kozacik whilst scoring the equaliser. Had Pyatov went for the ball instead of jumping into Kozacik directly, the goal would have stood.

Ukraine head-coach Mykhaylo Fomenko was however unhappy with the decision. "We scored a fair goal in the end and I was surprised the referee cancelled it," said Fomenko later. "We did not foul in the penalty area, Slovakia's keeper simply collided with his team mate.”
