Violence in football does raise its ugly head from time to time, and this incident is no different. In what came across as a very shocking instance of violent behaviour on a football field, a rival fan kicked Venezuelan footballer Aquiles Ocanto in the back while he was doing a live interview.
Ocanto, who plays for Carabobo FC, was answering questions from reporter Maria Alexandra Bastidas live on Meridiano Televisión after his side’s goalless draw with Aragua when he was kicked in the back by an Aragua fan.
Ocanto is now recovering from the kick, and the club have reassured fans by informing them that he was not injured during the incident, and tweeted this:
