England international and Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere has recently stated in an interview that he wants his loan club Bournemouth to beat the Gunners when the two teams face off this Sunday.

Arsene Wenger decided to loan out the English midfielder, with many clubs interested in the services of the midfielder, with Wilshere choosing Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side on the final day of the summer transfer window.

But Jack Wilshere will not be able to feature for the Cherries against Arsenal due to Premier League rules which don’t allow players to face their parent club. Wilshere has described his disappointment of not being able to play against the Gunners in an interview with Cherries Player.

"Yes, it's frustrating, of course, I've just got a run of games. But it might be good for me, to miss one and go again,” said Wilshere.

The England international also added that he will be rooting for a Bournemouth win when he watches the game from the stands: "At the moment I'm a Bournemouth player, so I want Bournemouth to win. But I’ll be there, so it’ll be alright.”

Wilshere’s move to Bournemouth has been largely successful so far having featured for the Cherries nine times this season, getting valuable game time to impress Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for a place back in Arsenal’s first team. Arsenal will miss his energy and drive midfield with Santi Cazorla out injured until Christmas.

Arsenal’s squad lacks a player with the ability to launch an attack in the midfield with the same kind of speed Cazorla possesses and the one player who is similar to Cazorla in the Arsenal team is Wilshere.

The English midfielder was once touted to be one of England’s brightest prospects, but the 24-year old’s constant battles with injuries have halted his progress to become a great player for club and country. Wilshere has been with Arsenal since the year 2001 coming through the North London club’s football academy.

Wilshere was phenomenal against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium last week, putting in a man of the match display in the 1-0 win . The 24-year old’s consistent performances have shown what he can do after recovering from a spate of injuries.

Arsenal are currently 4th in the Premier League table, just 3 points behind leaders Chelsea, while Bournemouth have started the season well and are in 10 th.
