Wayne Rooney out for 2-3 weeks

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out for two to three weeks after damaging a ligament during training.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed it as the reason for his exclusion in the match against Newcastle.

Speaking after the match he stated,“It was a volley towards the end of training.”

“He did a ligament at the back of his knee and could be out for two to three weeks.”
