West Ham 1-0 Arsenal: 3 Talking points from Arsenal's loss to the Irons

#2 Lack of creativity from Arsenal

The tweet below is one that many Gooners out there could concur with:

Arsenal showed little creativity in this game, especially in the final third. West Ham have good players, but Arsenal's man for man are better, and on paper should have won this game. Football isn't played on paper though, and Arsenal didn't deserve the win, ultimately.

Iwobi played well, as he looked to bring the ball forward when required. The addition of Aaron Ramsey in the second half also added to this, but it was very less to have a noted impact.

However, Mesut Ozil was missing from the team altogether, and this added to the continued narrative of a rift between him and head coach, Unai Emery. Whether this is a rift or not, it is in fairness moot that Ozil's presence would have enhanced things further.

But the team looked slow, lethargic, and bereft of ideas. Aubameyang and Lacazette had chances, but then both were not up to it, with Aubameyang arguably worse of the two.

Much is being said of Arsenal's transfer spend and activity but then given the fact the team looked slow in this game, more is needed to turn defeats and draws into wins.
