With four defeats in the first four games, eyebrows were raised about West Ham United's survival chances this season. However, the board came faith on Manuel Pellegrini to turn things around and rightly so with their first victory coming against Everton at Goodison Park.

From then on the Hammers drew against Chelsea where they were the better side and later won by an eight-goal margin in the Carabao Cup.
